The Area
Llwyn Mafon Isaf glamping holidays and B&B is located close to the town of Criccieth in North Wales.
Criccieth is a beautiful seaside resort town on Cardigan Bay overlooked by an ancient castle. Known the ‘Pearl of Wales’ for its fantastic beach and traditional charm – whether you are shopping at boutique craft shops or eating fish and chips by the beach. Locally you will find watersports including paddleboarding, Criccieth Multi Golf (with Pitch & Putt), and the Eisteddfa Coarse and Trout Fishery is just a mile down the road.
If you want to stretch your legs a little (or a lot!) then discover the Wales Coastal Path that extends right down to the Lleyn.
There are plenty of superb beaches to choose from, Porth Oer and Porthdinllaen with its famous Ty Coch Inn – rated the third best beach pub in the world – to name but a few.
Porthmadog is a bustling harbour town set on the Glaslyn Estuary, with the beautiful coves of Borth y Gest nearby. Your adventure ride begins at Porthmadog with a trip on the Welsh Highland Railway that winds its way through stunning scenery, through Beddgelert and the Snowdonia mountains to Caernarfon.
Just up the road from Porthmadog is the world-famous Italianate village of Portmeirion with its amazing architecture and stunning location. Experience the best of Welsh hospitality in a quirky setting.
Dash away to have a quick ice cream in Beddgelert, undoubtedly Snowdonia’s loveliest village; and a place of legend, culture and history, yet rich in activities, walks and adventures.
For mountain lovers we have 14 peaks over 3,000 feet high to choose from, with the most famous of course being Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). For an easier route to the summit remember to book your train ride early! Or choose from the challenging rugged peak of Tryfan in the Ogwen Valley, or an easier route up Moel Eilio with its famous (and Instagrammable) stile, from where you can see the Snowdonia mountains at their best. There are plenty of other active options in the area too, from wild swimming to fantastic cycling routes.
Thrill seekers will be spoilt for choice, with world-famous attraction such as Zip World with sites in Bethesda, Betws-y-Coed and Blaenau Ffestiniog.
Welsh Castles are world-famous, so if you’re after some history you’ll enjoy visiting castles at Criccieth, Harlech and of course Caernarfon Castle, one of the best-preserved castles in Wales and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
North Wales is renowned for its quarry landscapes, Welsh slate roofed the world, and this has also been recognised with UNESCO World Heritage site listing. Two of the most distinctive sites are very close to our farm, Gorseddau and Prince of Wales Quarries are situated in the valleys of Cwmystradllyn and Cwm Pennant.
A little further afield, cross from the mainland to the Isle of Anglesey and enjoy a range of popular attractions, historic sites (from ancient burial chambers to castles), quaint old harbours, boat trips, and numerous museums and galleries.
